Responding to the issue of cultural conquest, The Art of Eight Limbs explores the effect that the post-colonial condition has on the personal experience of culture. Through the sport of Muay Thai, combative contestants act as embodiments of diaspora and homeland; between which exists an ever-present tension. The Art of Eight Limbs challenges the idea of duality, instead proposing a third space in which all expressions of culture are represented.
